F.A.Q.

Why use Feba stock cubes?

faq-01
Because the basic principle behind our company is to provide consumers with products that we ourselves would like to eat.
We are Italians, and our Country and culture teach us that food must be both high quality and tasty.

Why use Feba granular products?

faq-02
You will find all the flavours of Bologna’s culinary traditions in Feba products: the granules can, obviously, be used to make a delicious stock, but can also be used as a flavour enhancer for a large number of different dishes, including, for example: risottos, vegetables, roasts, sauces, but also in the water used to cook pasta and in many other ways.
The measuring cap is extremely practical and allows the product to be distributed evenly and without waste.
Just like our stock cubes, the quality of the ingredients is assessed carefully and does not involve any addition of fats.

How are Feba stock cubes prepared?

faq_03
Our stock cubes are the result of a carefully executed manufacturing process that is controlled throughout, involving preparation of an even mix of selected raw materials which include, according to the type of recipe: meat extract, vegetables, salt, vegetable extracts, vegetable fat, spices, corn starch, sugar, glutamate.
We do not use synthetic flavouring, colouring or preservatives.
Just like our stock cubes, the quality of the ingredients is assessed carefully and does not involve any addition of fats.

Do Feba products contain preservatives?

faq04
No, because the salt they contain has an extremely effective natural preserving action, as it removes and binds any available free water, thus preventing the proliferation of micro-organisms.

Once they have been opened, how should stock cubes and stock granules be stored?

faq_05
They should be stored at room temperature, in a cool, dry place.
The product does not like damp conditions, so it is essential that you seal the pack properly every time you use it.
Apart from this simple precaution, the product will retain its characteristics until the expiry date and well beyond it.

Where are Feba products made?

faq_06
All phases of production, from selection of the raw materials all the way to packaging, are carried out under strict care inside our factory, which is located in the province of Bologna.

Should we avoid products containing monosodium glutamate?

faq-07
Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a food additive that has, wrongly, been given a bad reputation.
As in the case of many other products, it is merely a question of using it appropriately and in the proper amounts.
When it is included in the right way, it not only reinforces the flavour, but even helps lower the sodium level.
This is supported by recognised scientific and epidemiological research, (ex. Raif et al, 2000) performed in double blind, which has been highlighted in various TV programs.
Having said this, Feba obviously also offers some glutamate-free products, made from top quality raw materials, for those who prefer not to consume this ingredient.

Is palm oil bad for our health?

faq-08
Laboratory analysis highlight that it has a high level of antioxidants, Vitamin A and Vitamin E, and that its organoleptic characteristics have a positive effect on overall cholesterol levels. It also has an anti-carcinogenic action and helps prevent cardiovascular risks, thanks above all to the tocopherols it contains.
Recently, there has been some question relating to the transformation processes to which the product is subjected before it enters industrial cycles, which may cancel out some of the above mentioned benefits and even make the product harmful.
Feba and its supplier not only pay great attention to these findings, but have also taken steps to use options that will provide irrefutable guarantees for the health of consumers.
It is obvious that part of the reason public opinion is so against this product is dependent on ethical questions, relating to the way it is grown and harvested. This point of view is shared by us, and for this reason we only obtain our supplies from companies that have accepted the protocol issued by the international organisation RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil).

Do Feba products contain G.M.O.s?

faq09
No. None of our ingredients can be identified as genetically modified organisms.

Does gluten form a part of Feba recipes?

faq10
Feba does not use ingredients that contain gluten, and takes all the precautions required by safety regulations and good sense to prevent any contamination.
